About Guidelines4Quilting

Guidelines4Quilting is a manufacturer of innovative quilting tools that simplify the process of accurately cutting and sewing quilt pieces.

Before rotary cutters, the only seam allowance measurement quilters needed to know was 1/4 inch. They made individual templates by drawing the pieces the finished sizes they needed and adding a 1/4 inch all around. It was a slow, tedious process but there was no confusing math.

Our primary goal is to combine the no-math simplicity of traditional quilting with the speed, accuracy and versatility of today’s tools and techniques.

With our three core products: Guidelines Ruler, Seam Allowance Additions and Prep-Tool, we developed Finished-Size Quilting™ - A New No-Math, No-Guesswork Method to make traditional quilt blocks based solely on finished size measurements.

Once again, quilters can spend more time designing their own quilts any size they wish rather than only following what the instructions say.

We also promote an " Ultimate Stashbuster™ " Technique based on the Finished-Size Quilting Concept.

Using our quilt block breakdown chart shown below, you can experiment with colors and shades of your fabric stash while turning it into quilt blocks. Click here to learn more about the Ultimate Stashbuster™ Technique.

Making More Complex Quilt Blocks is a Breeze.

Using the Finished-Size Quilting Method, making a little more complex quilt blocks like the ones shown below any size you want is a breeze. Click here for detailed instructions.

  • Seam Allowance Additions are designed to work with Guidelines Ruler to eliminate the confusing seam allowance math and allow you to make entire blocks using just one measurement line.

In addition, the products ensure adding the exact amounts needed to make Half and Quarter Square Triangles.

  • Guidelines Ruler is the only ruler available today that
self-aligns to the edge of the fabric. Made of Polycarbonate,
it is 25 times stronger than acrylic rulers and comes with a
    lifetime replacement guarantee
    .

It is also our guarantee that the ruler does not slip while cutting .

Connect two 6"x12" Rulers, and you can use them as a 6"x24"
or 12"x12" square ruler, eliminating the hassle of carrying or storing larger rulers.

It's a Point Trimmer and Scant Quarter Inch Tool in one. It also simplifies Set-In-Seams and Mitered Binding Corners.

Rotary cutting leaves points on the ends of triangles that make it difficult to accurately line pieces up. The Prep-Tool’s raised Fabric Guides make it easy to accurately trim those points.

You'll see how much easier it is to piece and sew any traditional quilt blocks, including Fying Geese, Diamond in a Square (Square in a Square), Brave New World, Tumbling and Lemoyne Star Blocks.
