Why Seam Allowance Additiong by Guidelines4Quilting add .854" and 1.207" to make Half and Quarter Square Triangles

What they don't tell is those numbers are not exactly right.

As a result, we’ve been adding about 1/32” too much for Half
Square Triangles & 1/16” too much for Quarter Square Triangles.

That's why you have to trim your triangles down to match your squares.
