Make them any size
using your 12" & 24" rulers
First, Watch This Video:
Tool You Need
Step 1:
Attach one H Addition to your
12" ruler or two on your 24" ruler
For Left-handed Cutting,
Attach them to the left side.
Step 2:
Choose the whole-number
ruler line equal to
half the finished block size.
Step 3:
Line up with the selected
whole number to cut strips.
Step 4:
Cut the squares
diagonally in half.
Your triangle squares finish at
the selected whole-number size
with the exact seam
allowance already included.

The H Addition automatically adds the exact 0.854″ seam allowance. The standard quilt rulers are marked in 1/8″ increments, so quilters have no choice but to add 7/8″ instead—almost 1/32″ too much.

Cut the center square
the same size as
the trimmed HSTs
Step 7:
Sew an Accurate scant 1/4" Seam.
The secret to sewing accurately
is a Scant ¼" seam allowance:

What is a Scant 1/4"?
A scant ¼" is a seam allowance sewn slightly less than a full ¼".

After cutting accurate pieces
sew them together accurately
using the Seam Guide Setter.

Make Multiple (Nested)
Diamond in a Square Units
To add another, bigger outer square, you will need to cut four half square triangles.
1) Measure the first inner square by adjusting the Fabric Guide on
your ruler. Then, attach the H Addition to the ruler, and line up the fabric.
2) Cut two squares. Then, cut them in half diagonally to make
four half square triangles, which
will form the larger outer square.
3) Trim both ends of the HSTs
with the Prep-Tool.
4) Sew the HSTs to the original Diamond in a Square unit,
using the Super Easy Seam Guide Setter.
