How to Make
Diamond-In-A-Square
Step 1:
Attach two green H Additions
on your 24" ruler
Left-handers:
Attach them to the left side.
Built-in Alignment Tabs make it easy to attach them flush against the ruler's edge, so
they are aligned accurately.
About Suction Cups:
Every Addition comes with
a built-in Finger Guard:
The Seam Allowance Additions
include the S, H & Q Additions
to let you make most blocks:
Step 2:
Check out the "Prepare First" page if you haven't already.
Slide the Fabric Guides
( the yellow pieces included
in the Upgrade Kit ) to the 2" line.
Cut strips, using your 24" ruler.
Then, cut them into squares,
using your 12" ruler.
(Left-handers: Cut on the left side.)
Step 3:
Cut the squares once diagonally, and the exact seam allowance (0.854")
will be automatically included in your Half Square Triangles.
Step 4:
The Prep-Tool tells you exactly
where to trim the triangle points.

Step 5:
Adjust the Fabric Guide to
the Trimmed Triangle Width.
Then, cut the center squares.
Step 6:
The secret to sewing accurately
is a Scant ¼" seam allowance:
What is a Scant 1/4"?
A scant ¼" is a seam allowance sewn slightly less than a full ¼".
After cutting accurate pieces
sew them together accurately
using the Seam Guide Setter.

doesn't include the Setter,

Diamond in a Square Units
To add another, bigger outer square, you will need to cut four half square triangles.
1) Measure the first inner square by adjusting the Fabric Guide on
your ruler. Then, attach the H Addition to the ruler, and line up the fabric.
2) Cut two squares. Then, cut them in half diagonally to make
four half square triangles, which
will form the larger outer square.
3) Trim both ends of the HSTs
with the Prep-Tool.
4) Sew the HSTs to the original Diamond in a Square unit,
using the Super Easy Seam Guide Setter.
